In this video, learn about the measurement capabilities of The Fluke 805 Vibration Meter and the differences between each vibration measurement.
The Fluke 805 Vibration Meter takes 3 measurements: High Frequency, Overall Vibration and Temperature.
Overall Vibration is taken over a set frequency range of 10 to 1,000 hertz. Overall vibration analysis does not require extensive training to implement. The Fluke 805 vibration is a reliable, repeatable, accurate easy-to-use screening tool for checking bearings and overall vibration.
A key limitation to overall vibration is that bearing flaws will not cause an alarm in the overall vibration level until significant damage has occurred. To prevent significant damage to your machinery, The Fluke 805 Vibration Meter provides a proprietary algorithm called Crest Factor+. Crest Factor+ technology was designed for reliable bearing assessment using direct sensor tip measurements between 4,000 Hz and 20,000 Hz.
The Fluke 805 Vibration Meter also comes equipped with a four-level severity scale to assess urgency of overall vibration problems and bearing condition.
The Fluke 805 Vibration Meter has 2 severity scales. The first is the Crest Factor+, which displays the bearing health. This severity scale does not depend on a machine type nor does it require a machine category when setting up the device. This scale is displayed anytime when taking measurements on a machine as long as its measurements are greater than 600 rpm.
The second severity scale is based on overall vibration and displays the overall machine health. This scale does require a machine category to be selected in order for this severity scale to be displayed. If your machine type is not selected, the overall scale will be left blank. If your machine type is not on the list, the Fluke 805 Vibration Meter database does not have overall vibration levels stored for comparison. Even though you won't see a severity scale for overall vibration, you will still see a severity score for Crest Factor+, along with the 3 readings, overall vibration, crest factor and Temperature.
