A week after the Speaker of Brazil’s Lower House of Congress accepted a request to open impeachment proceedings against President Dilma Rousseff, accusations have flown furiously between the two sides. Speaker Eduardo Cunha accused Rousseff of lying to the nation when she expressed indignation on Wednesday at the suggestion that she had tried to make a deal to avoid impeachment procedures.
