Apologies in advance as the camera wiggles out of position with every lap. I'm going too fast for the mount ;)
Here's my new personal best lap time at Watkins Glen raceway, 2:27:249. Unfortunately, I did this with a loose suspension component. The rear passenger side toe alignment bolt had come loose due to oil saturation and high G loads. You can see the rear wobbling back and forth on the track, usually in the same places.
I didn't realize there was an issue until I reviewed the video when I came home and noticed the steering wheel wasn't straight when it should be. This is caused by extreme toe angles in the rear. I knew the wobbling occurred on the track, but it happened so consistently in the same areas that i thought it was just changes in the asphalt.
No overheating this time from the brake system thanks to the Pagid RS-29 yellow compound pads and RBF-660 brake fluid. But these pads aren't aggressive enough and I want to fix the cooling system so I can run back with the Pagid blacks, or more correctly, aggressive Hawk track pads.
The Bridgestone RE-11 rubber did an excellent job as always here. I ran hot pressures around 35PSI front and rear. I had plenty more in the tires but I did not want to push this car without safety equipment. My focus is on being smooth, becoming more visual, etc, not on best lap times.
Still, it's good to see any improvements. And for sure, became much more consistent at the Glen this trip.
