A beautiful traditional Russian folk song in tribute to the soldiers of WWII which claimed over 24 million lives (8 to 10 million military deaths).

The lyrics are an adaptation for English - not a word to word translation. The Russian lyrics are richer and more descriptive - but my attempt was to make the English lyrics fit closer with the melody.

Dedicated to my friend and classmate who never came home.
