GERMAN POLICE: Confiscating Weapons - Suprisingly, carrying handcuffs as a citizen is not illegal!

Carrying handcuffs in Germany might seem unusual, but it is not illegal. Recently, the Federal Police in Berlin encountered a man with handcuffs in his possession. Upon inspection, the serial number and stamp confirmed that these handcuffs did not belong to the police. Although a blank gun was not found during this encounter, the man has a history of Weapons Act violations. In the past, our colleagues confiscated a firearm from him at Berlin Central Station. During this recent incident, his pepper spray was seized and can be retrieved from the Federal Police the next day.
