【Pontocho Alley】
Pontocho Alley is the one of the geisha districts which is called “hanamachi” or “kagai” in Kyoto, and the word “Ponto” originated in Portuguese. In summer, restaurants on the east of the alley face the Kamo-gawa River lay out “Yuka” which means wooden platform on the bank of the river. You can enjoy beautiful scenery and cool breezes.
