It's so great to be back regularly and recording tracks/videos again! I missed it immensly this past year. I enjoy hearing from musicians all over, and recently a traveling drummer reached out to me wanting some advice on drum studio ideas, recording gear and any helpful pointers I could give them. To me, this is what it's all about, helping others retrieve their utmost creative potential! To me, it's not about being the best at your craft, it's about working together to bring the best out of each other. Nothing makes me more happier and satisfied, then someone reaching out to me wanting to know how they too can do this.

I've been a HUGE pantera fan since I was a kid and Vinnie has been a true inspiration to my drumming over the years. I've been getting requests from others to do "Becoming" by Pantera, so I attempted it. My good friend Arron from Yuma, Arizona requested this track several years back and I had to keep my promise to this dude I have extreme respect for. This song was extremely challenging, especially the kick pattern and I decided to put my own flair on this track, by adding the end of "Throes of Rejection" to end of the track. It worked out well and flowed better than I imagined. My wife was kind enough to be able to add some moving camera parts as well. She always does an amazing job (yes, she wears hearing protection).HA🤣
I ended up doing several mixes over two days, and thanks to one of my best friends Brandon B for allowing me to use his musical listening ears! Funny thing about this video....my damn overhead Gopro camera case broke so I had to tape the fucking thing up there using packaging tape.
Welp, my dumb ass forgot to take the tape roll off my china trash that I didn't use luckily! HAHA

Here is "Becoming" by Pantera from their 'Far Beyond Driven' album from 1994. Those were great years! Original drumming by the late great Vinnie Paul. This is my take. By no means is this perfect, but there is no way to match Vinnie Paul on the drums, Never, Ever!
