Bible Basis: Luke 11:1-13.
Memory Verse: "And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth". Luke 11:2 (KJV).
BIBLE TRUTH: Jesus teaches that nurturing a relationship with God requires persistent prayer.
LESSON AIM: By the end of the lesson, your students will: UNDERSTAND the Lord's Prayer as a model for praying various kinds of prayers; ACCEPT the need for constant prayer; and DEVELOP a more disciplined prayer life as a means of growing a relationship with God.
BACKGROUND SCRIPTURES: Luke 11; Psalm 103:1-13 — Read and incorporate the insights gained from the Background Scriptures into your study of the lesson.
PRAYER: Precious Lord, we are grateful that you give us the opportunity to pray. You listen to our prayers and respond in Your way, Your time, andin Your mercy. Thank You for Your everlasting love. Hear our prayers O Lord today and the many tomorrow to come. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen.
