I am a part of Siargao Islands dragon boat team. We have been a team for one year. We started with nothing no experience- no boat and no paddles. We worked hard to get sponsors and were determined to keep training. We now have fully equipped, paddles and boats for our team! We were able to compete in four international competitions so far. Sending our local boys on their first plane ride ever and now they’re applying for passports because we’ve been invited to international competitions overseas now.

We hosted our first competition for all beginner paddlers. We formed teams together that had no experience before for a fun race! Hopefully have a bigger international one in the future to help with our fundraising to send us to our next competition. I formed two teams. They are all surfers from a spot called jacking horse. So our team is called Barbie jacking horse one and two😂. I am so proud of them and have a newfound friendship with the boys.💖 #philippines #siargaoisland #filipino #surf #dragonboat
