The planets normally move from west to east against the background of the stars, but every so often they backtrack for a while before resuming their eastward motion. This is called Retrograde Motion. The Starwaders Retrograde Motion model makes it easy to understand this phenomenon which puzzled the ancients when they still believed that the Earth was at the centre of the solar system and the entire universe.
