This incredible woman's name is Ocean Ramsey. She's a professional scuba diver, free diver, and pioneering shark conservationist based in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Dedicated to informing and teaching the world about one of our planet's most misunderstood animals, the Great White shark. Ramsey is pictured here, off Mexico's coast, just moments before her encounter with a Great White.
Catching a ride on the shark's dorsal -- and quite contrary to how Hollywood might portray them, this majestic and peaceful creature doesn't mind at all.
"It's difficult to express the incredible joy and breathtaking emotion experienced locking eyes with a great white shark," she said.
The encounter was captured by Ramsey's friend and ocean photographer Juan Oliphant -- using a GoPro HERO3 camera.
Ramsey, incredible and brave woman that she is, certainly doesn't encourage the average person taking a dip with the beasts, she feels they've been given a unfair rap. "Every story needs a villain, and after films like 'Jaws,' it's just too easy for most media to continue to manipulate the human psyche and ingrain a deeper more absurd terror."
