Mary Wollstonecraft’s chapter 2 of “A Vindication of the Rights of Woman" consists almost 70 paragraphs and each one needs a certain explanation. for the convenience I have also uploaded the text with the specific mention of the paragraph numbers. What I have done in this video, although the video seems to be lengthy, I tried to explain the paragraphs and Wollstonecraft's ideas in lucid language. What the viewers and the students can do by this video presentation, they can gather their own arguments for the answers by collecting the explanations of separate paragraphs. The views on WOMEN and their plight in the 18th Century, the ENLIGHTENMENT and the free thinking about women are reflected throughout the CHAPTER 2. The views on Milton's Great Epic "Paradise Lost" and Dr. Gregory's "A Father's Legacy to his Daughters" are purely critical and supportive to negotiate the standard of women in the contemporary society. Throughout the text the writer tries to suggest the basic idea of women's condition and their sad attempt not to educate themselves. The piece is about the education of women.
