I love do-it-yourself treatments at home. And a do-it-yourself footbath can really be relaxing and amazing.
This is what I like to do. I often get tired feet at night from being at work all day so I'll just dump in a nice lukewarm temperature water some Epsom salts. A cup of Epsom salts really relaxes tired feet. It actually contains magnesium which is a true muscle relaxant and something, if you're having trouble sleeping, you should also take as a supplement. But soaking your feet in there after a long day's work is really going to make your skin and your muscles loosen up a lot so that you can sleep better.
Another at home footbath is raw apple cider vinegar. Raw apple cider vinegar is awesome because not only does it soften the skin and relax you, you can actually exfoliate your feet afterward and really do like a mini-pedicure at home. It smells kind of amazing. It's really relaxing like I said and it's an anti-inflammatory. So if your feet tend to get a little bit puffy or sore from the types of shoes that you're wearing, maybe you want to do raw apple cider vinegar instead. Sit with it for as long as you want but I would say at least ten minutes to really feel relaxed. And then you can get creative and add maybe a couple of drops of lavender oil just so that you get a little bit of aromatherapy going on for yourself, for your mind.
I wouldn't recommend watching TV while you're doing it. Really take some time out. Those kinds of moments in life, we don't take enough of, but they're really important to really reaching a relaxed state and your feet will really thank you for it.
