How can a light glider be surfed on a wave of air from a sheet of cardboard? As the sheet moves through the air the wind motion at the top edge produces a wave cascading up and over the top of the paddle. Suitably positioned, the cardboard sheet transfers the walking energy into the sustained flight of the glider.
