Nestled in a serene valley atop a mountain on the Ionian Isle of Zakynthos (Zante), Spiliotissa (Our Lady of the Cave) Monastery sits in quiet repose awaiting visitors. So-named because of a discovery of an icon of the Virgin Mary in a cave not far from here, this convent dates to at least the 16th century. Reachable from the village of Orthonies, Spiliotissa is a must-do if visiting Zante!
