INFORMATION. Tutorial further below:
- This NCPD Scanner Hustle is east of Kabuki Market fast travel dataterm / Northwest of Charter St. dataterm (where Judy lives at). But any other place should work. I recommend going into Maelstrom turf North of Watson. You can farm random enemies as well, but I believe the NCPD enemies have a higher change to drop these shards. You could also just run around and kill goons until something drops
- Glitch can be performed immediately after you can run around Watson. See my mission “Meet Dex”. You don't have to go to Dogtown for the glitch
- Glitch works with every item, even skill shards or money shards
- “Why did you put a second body inside?” Ignore this one. I just wanted to see if I could glitch the skill shard as well, but only the cyberware shard glitched
- No cyberware shard dropped? Quicksave around 100 meters away from the goons and if no drop then reload save, repeat and repeat until it drops
- The body doesn't have to contain anything else in order to pull off the glitch. Rarity doesn't matter as well
- DROP RATE: (Credit to ZacharyFinch) Beware that the drop chance depends on your level as well as your current cyberware capacity as far as it's been tested. E. g. If you have a high level, but capacity is low, then you have a good chance the shard drops.
Furthermore I'd recommend doing it on a character who isn't already max level etc. With my maxed character I couldn't get one shard dropped, not eben in Dogtown
TUTORIAL:
1. Quicksave approx. 100 m away before engaging with the NCPD hustle goons
2. Off them and see if a cyberware capacity shard dropped (if not, reload and repeat)
3. Once cyberware shard has dropped, quicksave just in case, take the body (take out any shards that are readable!) and put it close to a e. g. dumpster, box, car trunk. Then quicksave again
4. Put the body inside a dumpster, then quickly look into the bag (this IMPORANT) BUT don't take out the cyberware shard, then quickly run away approx. 100 m and go back. Take the cyberware shard
5. If the empty bag still stays floating there, then glitch worked! QUICKSAVE! (If NOT, then reload and repeat)
6. Now just dash or run back a few meters (when the bag isn't visible due to distance) and go back to the bag and take the shard again
7. Repeat and Repeat until you are satisfied with your cyberware capacity
IMPORTANT Tipps:
- If you put on the best Cyberware (incl. PL), then you will need approx. 550 Cyberware capacity
- AND If you want to use the Fury Perk, then do NOT go overboard with the capacity, BECAUSE:
1. V starts off with approx. 14 capacity after "The Rescue" mission
2. You get approx. 174 capacity by leveling up from lvl 2 to 60 (58 x 3=174)
3. Engineer Skill gives 15 additional capacity
4. "Edgerunner" Perk gives 50 capacity
5. "Renaissance Punk" Perk gives 4 extra capacity for each attribute at 9 or higher (if 4 attributes are over 9 which is what every player will most likely end up with, then you get extra 16 capacity)
In TOTAL you should get approx. 250 capacity by just playing the game and including V's base capacity it's approx. 265 capacity
So don't go overboard with your capacity, if you plan on using the Edgerunner Perk. Thus I recommend (at the start of the game) to get V to approx. 250 capacity. The rest will be added by just playing the game.
If you don't care about Fury though, then ofc have fun going crazy with the glitch.
