The Grindstone General Store, located in Port Austin, Michigan, has been severely damaged by a fire that started around 3:15pm local time on January 1st, 2025. Known for their famous homemade ice cream, serving up the "Biggest Scoops in the Thumb", the Grindstone General Store has remained in operation since the late 1880's, until the unfortunate loss of this centerpiece of local history in the first few hours of 2025.
