This quilting technique utilizes a special foot for your longarm machine. The foot has a large enough hole to thread fluffy, chenille blanket yarn. Your machine can then stitch down the yarn in whatever quilting design you desire!
I designed this sea turtle in ProStitcher, but you can choose designs from any library of digital files. Try quilting a panel, adding a character, or couching a fluffy border.
These couching designs hold up well on quilts and even hold through the wash. I love this technique for quilting baby quilts, kids quilt, and holiday quilts because of the added texture that is perfect for cuddling!
Some couching designs can be done on a domestic machine if you have the right sewing foot for it as well. Just use this as an opportunity to get creative!
