Colombian President Ivan Duque, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, Peruvian Vice President Mercedes Araoz and Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland addressed the unrest in Venezuela on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2018 and each said their respective countries recognize opposition leader Juan Guaido as the legitimate interim president of the country.
They said a joint statement would also be coming out from the Lima Group of countries on Venezuela.
The comments came after Guaido swore himself in as interim president amid mass protests against Nicolas Maduro's administration, and U.S. President Donald Trump made a statement backing Guaido.
