President Park Geun-hye says North Korea′s provocations and international isolation stance are blocking Asia′s growth potential,... hindering development and stability in the region
Speaking at the opening of The Asian Leadership Conference in Seoul,... President Park said South Korea will respond firmly to Pyongyang′s threats, and continue to urge North Korea to choose a path of development.
She also talked about her Northeast Asia peace initiative, in which regional neighbors set aside differences and start by increasing non-political cooperation.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, also at the conference,... expressed hopes of visiting North Korea.
He said the UN is prepared to provide developmental assistance any time, and will mediate to help build trust between Pyongyang and the international community.
Title: S. Korea to run "Eurasia Express" from Russia to Germany in July
It looks like it′s full-steam ahead for a special express train running through major cities in Eurasia this summer... part of President Park Geun-hye′s so-called Eurasia Initiative.
Seoul′s foreign ministry and the state-run Korea Railroad Corporation said Tuesday...the so-called Eurasia Express will depart from the Russian city of Vladivostok on July 15th and arrive at the German capital,... Berlin on August 2nd.
The train will carry roughly two-hundred passengers, including government officials, lawmakers, and cultural figures, as well as citizens.
The ministry says it′s organizing a range of events with the theme of reunification during the 20-day trip.
The project is part of South Korea′s efforts to link its rail network to Russia′s Trans-Siberian Railway via North Korea.
