"We haven't heard much about it, but we had to live through the sirens. That was bad enough. The fear is, I mean, it's bad enough that the land called 'holy' is blood, violence and tension. When that expands, then it is more, oh no, then it is more dangerous, then it is more threatening. So the answer is here. The answer is in the spirit. The answer is faith. The answer is to recognize we are all God's children. We all believe that, and that's what we need. That's why I'm happy to be here this morning. "

10. SOUNDBITE (English) Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan, Archbishop of New York:
"When I meet with the people here in Bethlehem, when I meet with people in Ramallah, when I meet with people in Jerusalem, they may be Muslims, they may be Christians, they may be Jews. Most of them says, just say, we just want peace. We want to work and have our home and our security and our family and we want an end to the violence. We want an end to the bloodshed. And this gives me great hope. The people have the message."

STORYLINE:
Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan, Archbishop of New York, led a service in the West Bank on Sunday amid increasing tensions not only in the region but between Iran and Israel.
Dolan’s visit comes after six months of fighting in Gaza that has pushed the besieged Palestinian enclave into a deepening humanitarian crisis, with more than 1 million people on the brink of starvation.
Meanwhile, Israel on Sunday praised the success of its defenses in the face of an unprecedented attack by Iran involving hundreds of drones, ballistic missiles and cruise missiles.
"We haven't heard much about it, but we had to live through the sirens. That was bad enough... It's bad enough that the land called 'holy' is blood, violence and tension. When that expands, then it is more, oh no, then it is more dangerous, then it is more threatening," said Dolan.
"The answer is faith. The answer is to recognize we are all God's children. We all believe that, and that's what we need. That's why I'm happy to be here this morning," he added.
Israeli bombardments and ground offensives in Gaza have killed more than 33,600 Palestinians.
The war started on Oct. 7 when Hamas killed 1,200 Israelis in a surprise attack, mostly civilians.
Around 250 people were also taken hostage by Palestinian militants, some released during a week ceasefire on last November.
