The New School ([ Ссылка ]) presents a conversation between Diane von Furstenberg, celebrated fashion designer and chair of the Council of Fashion Designer of America (CFDA), and Professor Hazel Clark, Research Chair of Fashion at Parsons ([ Ссылка ]), marking 40 years of the wrap dress and discussing the ways in which American fashion design has changed since 1974 as well as the past and future of this singular look.
In 1974 Diane Von Furstenberg introduced a modern design classic into the American consciousness: the wrap dress. The garment defined the 1970s and outfitted a generation of women seeking (and achieving) professional, personal, and sexual independence.
