Today, on our gooseneck flatbed utility trailer, we'll be installing the Optronics Sealed 2-1/2 Inch Round LED Trailer Clearance Side Marker Light with Reflector in the red color in 8 diodes, part number MCL59RB. Here's what our 2-1/2 Inch round LED light looks like. You notice on the back, there are two prongs. This is where the two-prong wiring harness will connect into the back side. You'll also see from the factory, there's some dielectric grease installed on each of the two prongs to help resist against corrosion. It is helpful if you put a little bit of grease around the rubber grommet as it will allow the light to slide in just a little bit easier.
Now, we'll go ahead and take our two wire plug that's already been installed on this trailer and plug it into the back of the new round LED light. Once we have the plug pushed all the way into the back side of the light, we'll go ahead and try it out before we put it into the rubber grommet. As you can see here, the light lights up just fine. We'll then go ahead and work the light into the rubber grommet by starting at the top of the light and working our way around the light gently pushing it into the grommet. Once the light is all the way into the grommet, we'll go ahead and try it out again to make sure everything is working. That's all there is to it to installing the Optronics Sealed 2-1/2 Inch Round LED Trailer Clearance Side Marker Light with Reflector in the red color in eight diodes, part number MCL59RB on our gooseneck flatbed utility trailer.
