The Nuh violence in Haryana has thrust Monu Mansar into the limelight as a significant figure in the ongoing conflict. His vigilantism against alleged cow smugglers has sparked controversies and debates. Monu Mansar's modus operandi involves receiving tips from night shift workers about suspicious vehicles, which he then reports to the police. However, if the police fail to respond, he and his accomplices take matters into their own hands, apprehending the suspects and handing them over to law enforcement.
His actions have been the center of scrutiny and criticism, particularly due to his alleged involvement in the killing of two men from the minority community. Nasir and Junaid, residents of Ghatmeeka village in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan, were allegedly abducted by cow vigilantes on February 15, and their bodies were found in a charred car in Loharu, Haryana's Bhiwani district the next day. The Rajasthan Police filed a chargesheet in the case, naming Monu Mansar as an accused.
Monu Mansar's vigilantism has not been limited to physical actions. He has a significant online presence, with a substantial following on social media platforms like YouTube and Facebook. His accounts often feature live-streamed videos showcasing his vigilante actions, which have garnered him a large following but have also fueled the controversy surrounding his activities.
The situation in Nuh, Gurugram, and Sohna districts remains tense, with prohibitory orders on mass movement in place. The clashes and the involvement of Monu Mansar continue to be subjects of discussion and investigation.
