Georgia's starting quarterback Carson Beck will miss the College Football Playoff after undergoing successful surgery to repair his UCL in his right elbow. Beck, who was injured during the SEC Championship against Texas, had been a key player for the Bulldogs, throwing for 3,485 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions this season. Backup quarterback Gunner Stockton, who led Georgia to a win over Texas after Beck's injury, will start in Beck's place against Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl on January 1. Despite the setback, Georgia remains a strong contender for the title.
