On day 32 of this trip we head up the Stubai Valley to hop aboard a multi stage cableway and ride to the "Top of the Tirol". At 3165 metres (10384 feet), we had arrived at viewpoint from where more than 109 peaks topping 3000 metres can be seen. A short climb gives access to a platform close to frost shattered peaks that gives fabulous views. Pausing at an intermediate lift station we explore a cavern carved into the ever shrinking glacier. We then took a stony path alongside glacial meltwaters eventually re-joining the lift system to return to the valley floor. Beautiful day once more.
