India has attacked Pakistan for raking up the Jammu and Kashmir issue at the United Nations Security Council debate on children and armed conflict. Ashish Sharma, Counsellor in India's Permanent Mission to the UN, termed Pakistan's remarks politically motivated' and 'venomous.' He said that 'those who are soaked in bigotry will find it hard to understand a pluralistic society.' India's sharp response comes after Pakistan’s UN envoy, Munir Akram, said that it was an anomaly that the latest report of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Children and Armed Conflict does not include India.
