Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a condition where a blood clot forms in one or more deep veins in the body, typically in the leg. DVT can cause pain, swelling, and potentially lead to serious complications like pulmonary embolism. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), up to 900,000 people in the United States may be affected by DVT each year.
