Bannos Brothers

Every Friday on the radio we would “Chew The Fat with the Bannos Brothers” – Jimmy and George, famous in Chicago and beyond for their iconic N”Orleans style Heaven on Seven restaurants, their cookbooks, their talent for insulting each other and for believing they’re worldly experts on everything even tho they’re just a couple of regular guys from Berwyn and Cicero. Or as they’d say, “the twin cities of the Chicago suburbs.”

After our segment with Jimmy and George concluded, the cameras would roll and we’d capture the brothers off the air commenting on various topics. Most of these short clips have never been seen until now.

We’ve been customers, friends and broadcast colleagues with them for the last 25 years. On Tuesday August 8, 2017, our hearts broke when we lost George. We will never forget our great times together. Fortunately we have an archive full of video and audio memories to share with you from our times at WFLD Fox Thing in the Morning, Chicago radio stations the old WCKG FM, WGN AM720 and WLS AM890.
