The Pulaski Tunnel Trail is a historical route that follows the same path Ed Pulaski and his team of firefighters used to escape the great fire of 1910. The trail is a 4 mile , moderate, out-and-back trail which follows trail signage leading to the tunnel overlook.

I was inspired to visit Wallace, Idaho based on the astonishingly beautiful book, The Big Burn by Timothy Egan. I visited the very setting our story takes place on the day in history it happened. This is my historical journey into the past to see for myself the places that vividly came to life in my imagination thanks to Timothy Egan.
