(5 Apr 1971) RR7114B FISHING: EEC THREAT TO BRITAIN
On February 1st 1971, the European Common Market
decided to scrap the 12-mile fishing limit. Britain's
20,000 inshore fishermen fear that it could ruin their
fishing grounds if Britain ever joins the Common
Market. They accuse the continental fishermen of
using nets that are too fine and trawls that are too
heavy. We speak to both sides in the dispute.
