Topslip is the iconic tourist spot inside Anamalai Tiger Reserve. People travel often to visit the elephant feeding camp at Kozhikamuthi and to take a small safari in Topslip. Erstwhile Stewart mount is known for its thick forest and teak. British men found this forest and trimmed down every tree to make furniture and to import to European Market. Topslip is the spot where the trimmed trunks pushed down on the slop to collect it from Subbegoundenpudur at Pollachi.
In 1915, Hugo Francis Andrew Wood, an IFS officer employed to monitor the overall operation of trimming trees. He found the entire mountain had become lifeless. He initiated several works to restore the forest and sowed thousands of plants in Mount Stewart. Even after he transferred to Coonoor, he was very fond of those hills. In his will, he wrote that he wanted his corpse should be buried at mount Stewart after his death and he also saved money for the maintenance of the tomb. Now, in this area, an elephant feeding camp and a kumki training center function at Kozhikamuthi and Varagaliyaru respectively.
