Kemi Badenoch has appeared at the Post Office Inquiry, during which she said the “government machine” slowed down the payment of compensation to sub-postmasters during Rishi Sunak’s government.
The new Conservative leader said 'there needs to be an acknowledgement of the fact that the government machine and the system is broken', adding 'but as you can see given that I am leader of the Opposition, not prime minister, not a secretary of state, that is not an argument that I’m winning'.
