It felt like early autumn rather than winter today. For more on the weather updates, let's go over to Lee Jee-hyun at the weather center. Jee-hyun, I hear very much needed nationwide rain is in the forecast tomorrow?
Yes, and very timely indeed, as the weather agency issued a drought advisory for the capital area this month.
A good amount of rainfall is ahead even for the upper regions starting tomorrow evening, with the rain expected to continue into Thursday. Precipitation will start on Jeju Island in the morning hours before reaching the rest of the country while the southern coastal regions will see heavy rainfall of up to 120 millimeters while snow is expected in the mountainous regions of Gangwon-do Province.
Tomorrow December 21 is this year's winter solstice, which means it will have the shortest daytime and longest nighttime of the year but temperature-wise, we'll still be able to enjoy somewhat mild like temperatures. The morning low in Seoul will start out at 5 degrees Celsius.
Today's high in the capital reached 13. 6 degrees, the 4th warmest mid December temperatures since meteorological records started. Tomorrow's highs will still somewhat similar, with Seoul getting up to 12 degrees Celsius.
Temperatures will remain above the averages until Thursday when a big drop in readings is expected for Christmas Eve.
That's Korea for you, here's look at the weather conditions around the world.
