INGREDIENTS :
Grated coconut – कद्दुकस कोकोनट
Poppy seeds – खसखस
Dried red chilli – सुखी लाल मिर्च
Curry leaves – कढ़ी पत्ता
Green chilies – हरी मिर्च
Onion – प्याज
Chicken legs – चिकन पैर
Ginger garlic paste – अदरक लहसुन पेस्ट
Chopped tomatoes – कटा हुआ टमाटर
Tamarind pulp – इमली का गूदा
METHOD :
Start by making the chettinad masala by roasting
Red chilli, coriander seeds, fennel, cinnamon, star anise, black peppercorn, cumin seeds, tond flour, grated coconut and making a powder along with some salt.
In a pan heat oil and temper it with green chilli and curry leaves.
Once the oil starts to splatter add sliced onions, ginger garlic paste and fry it well.
Add in the chicken and sear it well and some water to prevent it from burning.
Cover it and cook for some time and add in the chettinad masala and water.
Add in the chopped tomatoes and tamarind pulp and cook it for about 40 mins.
