During the EU-US Trade and Technology Council meeting in Sweden, European Commissioner for Competition, Margrethe Vestager says that the EU and the US will advance a draft of an AI code of conduct "within weeks". The European Union has been moving forward on the world's first regulations on AI which would ban biometric surveillance and ensure human control, although the rules would not enter into force before 2025 at the earliest.
