Buffalo’s resident theatre in its pre-Shea’s days. The play is held at nearby Pfeifer Theatre - Studio Arena Theatre’s location from 1965 until 1978 and now managed by University at Buffalo Center for the Arts - rather than the main venue.
Studio Arena Theatre closed in 2008 amid $3 million in debt. Shea’s Performing Arts Center purchased the venue in 2011, reopening what is now Shea’s 710 Theatre for the 2012-13 theatre season.
