Former Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith said he was the person who provided a complaint to the Anti-Corruption and Investigations Bureau regarding allegations of misbehavior in public office against Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley.

• Last week, Opposition Senator David Nakid revealed in Parliament that the PM is the subject of a criminal investigation

• However, speaking at a press conference on Tuesday 18th October, 2022, Griffith, the founder of the National Transformation Alliance (NTA), confirmed he was the person who forwarded a complaint to the ACIB for investigation against Dr. Rowley.

• According to Griffith, he received correspondence from the Police Service Commission that it did not temporarily suspend him or recalled the order of merit list from The Office of the President.

The Office of The President, in a detailed statement earlier this year, said it was the PSC who submitted and withdrew the order of merit list.

Months later, Dr. Rowley admitted that he was the high-ranking public official who met with the then PSC chairman Bliss Seepersad at President's House, which was the same day the merit list was submitted and withdrawn.

Dr. Rowley defended his action saying he had crucial information which he supplied to Seepersad.
• But Griffith is contending that Seepersad was not the entire PSC but a member and its chairman and decisions had to be approved by other members and such were not done in the case when she suspended him and withdrew the merit list.

• He also believes Seepersad's actions were influenced by political interference.
