The Sakkarbaug Zoo was established in 1863 by The Mohabat khanji Babi-II of Junagadh state. It is second oldest zoo of India and fourth biggest zoo in India.
Sakkarbaug zoological garden or sakkarbaug zoological park also known as sakkarbaug zoo or Junagadh Zoo is a 84 hectare zoo that opened in1863 at Junagadh, Gujarat, India.
The zoo provides purebred asiatic lions for the Indian and the international endangered species captive breeding program for the critially endangered species. The zoo also provides the bus safari facility and battery rickshaw is also available at zoo.
The sakkarbaug zoo timing is 8 am to 5 pm. Sakkarbaug zoological park is 2nd oldest zoo of India and 4th biggest zoo in India.
In 2009, sakkarbaug zoo became the only zoo in India to hold african cheetah when it traded three of its lions with a singapore zoo for two pairs of cheetah.
