I generally think that PPI's and other acid blocking medications are a bad idea for ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease if they can be avoided because they inhibit digestion and can create the conditions for leaky gut. Notably via negatively impacting our microbiome by promoting SIBO and allowing inadequately digested proteins to potentially enter out bloodstream.
