Roads in the civic district will be closed on Aug 9, as police secure the area for the National Day Parade at the Padang. Only police and emergency vehicles will be allowed, and buses will be diverted. Road marshals will help motorists navigate the affected areas. The Padang and its surroundings have been designated as a Special Event Area for the whole of Aug 9.
