Wash Dal throughly
Add water, green chillies and cucumber
Pressure cook the dal for 3 whistles
Allow it cool and then open
mash the dal
add tumeric salt ,tamarind water and coriander
mix everything well and bring dal to a boil
For seasoning, Add ghee to a pan, add garlic and fry
Add the garlic to the dal
Add mustard, cumin and allow them to splutter
SWITCH OFF the flame and then add asafoetida and chilli powder
Add the seasoning to dal and mix well
Enjoy the dal with rice and a dollop of ghee
