For around a week people have been taking to the streets in Brazil. What started as relatively small-scale protests against a rise in bus fares centred on Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo have spread across a vast number of cities. People are now demanding that taxpayers' money should be spent on improving education, health and living conditions instead of being spent on the 2014 World Cup stadia and 2016 Olympic Games venues.
