If you want to get the most out of your vitamin D supplement, you need to take it at the right time.
I recommend taking vitamin D in the morning or early afternoon with your first meal of the day, and I recommend this for two main reasons.
1) Vitamin D is a fat-soluble nutrient, so taking it with a meal can help with its absorption.
2) Vitamin D effects melatonin, and taking vitamin D later in the day can make it harder to fall asleep at night.
Besides those two tips, there's also a couple other things to consider.
1) Caffeine reduces vitamin D absorption, so if you consume caffeine in the morning, then it would be more beneficial to wait until the afternoon to take your vitamin D supplement.
2) If you work night-shift, then you'll probably want to take vitamin D in the evening, or whenever the early part of your day is.
