A splendid view of ice thawing was captured Saturday along the Yellow River in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, as temperature started to rise.
Ice blocks were captured in a time-lapse video floating along the section in Dengkou County.
The section of the Yellow River where it meets the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, started to thaw on Feb. 13. China's second longest river entered its crucial ice flood control period from Feb. 25, said the Yellow River Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters.
Flood control and drought relief departments in Inner Mongolia have been paying close attention to any possible floods as ice blocks can push up the water level and trigger an ice flood.
