A Japanese astronaut said goodbye to an usual colleague as he prepared to leave the International Space Station.
Video released by the developers of Kirobo Tuesday showed the first talking humanoid in space interacting with the astronaut. The robot said, "Don't worry. I suppose there's not enough space for me.... I'll be alright. I'm a robot."
The robot is programmed to process questions and select words from its vocabulary to answer.
The astronaut will return at the end of the year.
