Today we’re going to take a look at one the most researched HR systems on SelectHub, Workday HCM software. Workday HCM is on the SelectHub leaderboard as one of the top 10 HR software systems. It serves the needs of medium-sized and larger businesses but it’s also flexible enough to accommodate smaller businesses. It’s competitive pricing makes it a popular choice for a wide range of businesses and industries. Workday is deployed as a cloud-only solution. This isn’t an issue as most buyers aren’t interested in an on-premise solution. So, let’s get to the ratings.
Our analysts give Workday a rating of 77. Our top 10 solutions range between 69 and 85, so that puts Workday right in the middle of the leaders. I should mention that having a top score does not mean a product is the right fit for your company. That depends on your specific requirements. We’ll look at Workday’s strengths and weaknesses coming up. Users love Workday, giving it an 83% positive rating. This is taken from more than 2000 users of the software. Use the links at the end of this video to request a demo of Workday Software for your company.
As was mentioned, Workday is well suited for organizations looking for an HR system with all the bells and whistles. You can see how the product covers standard HR functions such as recruiting, payroll and benefits. And it also includes the talent management pieces many companies are looking for such as Compensation Management, Learning, and Performance.
Looking at its strengths, Workday overperforms in critical HR functions such as Applicant Tracking and Recruiting – which garnered an 89 rating from our analysts. We also see a 92 score for Employee Onboarding, and 98 for Self-Service – making Workday a great choice for the acquisition of new employees.
On the flip side, Workday scores lower for Learning, Performance, and Workforce Management. Although they have reasonable support for these tasks, it’s not their strong suit. It should be mentioned that this is not surprising for a full-featured HR suite. Organizations that need superior capabilities in these areas are advised to look at dedicated solutions.
Workday compares favorably with the top systems on our Leaderboard. In our Express Evaluation Tool, you can compare vendors and set different priorities set for each function. Changing your priorities, changes the scores of the vendors. We can also take out certain modules from our evaluation. Many businesses won’t need every module offered in an HR suite. Once we change our settings, we can update our report.
What do users have to say about Workday? Here are Workday’s key strengths, compiled from over 2,000 user reviews. Although Workday is very intuitive, it’s a big application so new users will have a steep learning curve getting a handle on various modules. Luckily help is easy to access and is exceedingly good. Workday excels at the core competency of Payroll and Benefits – getting a perfect score from its users.
Some of Workday’s weak points include performance issues experienced by 55% of users. As was mentioned, Workday has a lot of different functions which can take time to fully grasp. The mobile app clearly needs improvement with 85% of users complaining about a lack of sophistication.
In summary, Workday is one of the top HR solutions available. Users give it high marks as a command center for all their HR activities. It excels in core HR functions like Recruiting, Payroll, and Benefits.
If you need deeper “Talent Management” functions, you may want to look at separate point solutions to get what you need. If mobile app capabilities are high priority, Workday might not be a good fit.
Otherwise, Workday HCM can be an excellent choice for your business.
