At last I finally got to run the new Tamiya Land Rover Defender 90. But unfortunately the weather has not been playing ball with us in the UK so we ended up going out in quite dull and overcast conditions otherwise I didn’t think we would ever get to run it. But on the upside the headlights and taillights show up better.

Overall this kit really surprised me at how capable it is in stock trim especially when climbing the mud strewn hill. However I do believe this is partially due to the fact that both differentials have been locked. You can see how this was done by checking out my build video.
I have also removed the shock pre-tensioners as it was bouncing around a bit to much with them fitted.
To sum up the kit is to the usual excellent Tamiya standards utilising their proven CC-01 chassis and a high level of detail to the body shell and decals. So if you are a fan of Land Rovers then you can’t go wrong adding this one to your collection.

This model recreates an early version of the Defender 90 so named on account of its wheelbase length, this being the shorter wheel base variant of the car.

CC-01 Chassis is Tamiya’s ultimate platform for mounting precise scale renditions of off-road classics.
