Masa also known as waina is a very delicious meal made with local unprocessed rice.
The ingredients used are as follows
Local rice (14 cups)
Onions (as desired)
Yeast (2 tbsp)
Salt ( 1 tsp)
Sugar (1&1/2 cups)
Vegetable oil for frying
After soaking the rice, you scoop out 2 cups and cook till soggy, then you share the cooked rice into two halves as shown in the video.
The 1st half is what you'll add to the remaining raw rice and blend. The 2nd half goes into the blended rice mixture.
Enjoy your delicious masa with any stew, soup or sauce of choice, or even snack on it with suya of any kind.
