Nabarangpur district of Odisha. Fifty-five percent of the district's population is tribal. According to statistics, about 75 percent of the population in the district is below the poverty line. Most of the area is in a state of disarray due to the geographical location of the district. That’s why the rainwater immediately rolls down. So the water storage capacity of the farmland is very low here. As a result, crop production is not as satisfactory. Since most of the inhabitants belong to the tribal community, they mainly depend on the forest for their livelihood. But gradually the deforestation became a problem for their livelihood.
Realizing this problem, an innovative initiative has been initiated by the leading voluntary organization Agragamee. The Eco Village Development Project was launched in 10 numbers of village under tentulikhunti block to improve water, forests and land and improve their food security along with the income generation. For this, the hand of cooperation was extended by the Karl KübelStiftung of Germany.
